Disability Awareness Day Celebrates 25 years!

This year Luggie is promoting great days out where you can enjoy the freedom of your portable travel scooter and here’s a great event that will get you out in the fresh air and celebrate a day that is close to all our hearts.

Disability Awareness Day 2016 will take place this Sunday 10 July at Walton Hall & Gardens and is also the “25th Silver Anniversary event” of a UK Northern based event, which has inspired people from all over the world and provided advice and support to 100,000’s of disabled people, their families, friends and carers. The main event opens at 10am on Sunday and finishes at 5pm and is the finale of a week of other special events. Entry to the show ground is completely FREE and so is the programme.

A huge tented village creates a show ground visitor will be able to explore. More than 250 exhibitors promoting independent living and the theme of a “can do” culture, as well as enjoying the Sports Zone, Arts Marquee, Main Arena and Family Entertainments

The free, accessible park and ride service at Wilderspool Park; free bus service every 30 minutes from 10am from Warrington Bus Interchange; British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters; trained assistants. There is a mobility scooter / wheelchair loans service available on the day.
