On June 5th, 2022, Her majesty The Queen will become the first British monarch to celebrate a platinum Jubilee after 70 Years of service

There are thousands of ways you can get involved in this year’s jubilee with an amazing extended bank holiday weekend. This will provide an opportunity for communities and families to get involved within this historic milestone. There will be a total of four-day celebrations, that will include public events and community activities. As well as a point to reflect on The Queens 70 years of service

The Set days will go as followed

Thursday 2nd June

“Trooping the colour” This day marks The Queen’s Birthday parade, which will be held Thursday 2nd of June 2022 at 11am. The colour will be trooped by the 1st battalion. Irish guards, and more than 1,200 officers and soldiers from household division will put on a display of military pageantry on horse Guards parade together with hundreds of army musicians and around 240 horses. This annual event has marked the official birthday of the sovereign for over 260 years. Whilst the Queen’s birthday parade is happening a Royal Gun Salute will be fired

Friday 3RD June

a service of thanksgiving for the Queens Reign will be held at St Pauls Cathedral. The great Paul the largest church bell in the country, will be rung for the service. The bell fell silent in 1970 due to a broken mechanism but has since been restored in 2021 and has been rang on 8 occasions since, but this is the first royal occasion it will be rung

Sunday 5th June

“The Jubilee Lunch” With events ranging from world record attempts for the longest street party to back garden BBQ’s over 6-k people have registered to host “Big Jubilee lunches” on the platinum celebration weekend. Over 10 million people across the UK are expected to be joining the celebrations to share friendship, Food and fun at Big Jubilee lunches as part of the nationwide act of community friendship. People across the world are also joining in with 600 international big jubilee lunches being planned throughout the commonwealth and beyond from Canada to Brazil, New Zealand and South Africa to Switzerland.
